Sara Welborn Owens Anderson, SC Sara Welborn Owens, age 68, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, on March 7, 1946, she was the daughter of the late William Forrest Welborn and the late Ruth Arnold Welborn. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert E. Owens, Sr.; two sons, Brian Owens and his wife Melinda, of Anderson, SC, Robert E. Owens, Jr. and his wife Gail, of Colorado Springs, CO.; a brother, Billy Welborn and his wife Brenda, of Anderson, SC; five grandchildren, Zachary Owens, Kaitlin Owens, Taylor Owens, Amber Owens and Summer Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda King. The Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Bill Rinehart officiating. The family will be at the residence, 1016 Dickerson Road, Anderson, SC, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
