SARA ANN SHIFLET May 19, 1941 - July 24, 2012 Mrs. Sara Ann Rhodes Shiflet, age 71, of Anderson, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at her residence. Born in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Rhodes and the late Willie Finley Rhodes. Mrs. Shiflet was the devoted wife of her husband of 54 years, Charles Edward Shiflet of the residence. For many years she was employed as a spinner at Orr Mill in Anderson. She was a devoted member of Rocky River Worship Center (formerly Rocky River Church of God), where she met her husband 56 years ago. She enjoyed collecting angels, and by nature was a care taker of everyone who crossed her path. Sara was a prayer warrior and was very loving and giving to others. She had a special place in her heart for her family and children. Survivors in addition to her husband, Charles, include a daughter, Pamela Yates and her husband, Mike of Anderson; 2 sons, Jaye Shiflet and his wife, Joanne, of Starr, and Steve Shiflet and his wife Kim Black-Shiflet, of Anderson; a brother, Bill Rhodes and his wife, Sandra, of Martin, GA; 7 grandchildren, Nathan Shiflet, Matthew Yates, Jessica Hilley, Brieanna and Gracie Shiflet, David and Katie Carver; also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating the life of Mrs. Sara Shiflet will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012, at 11 AM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Sam Autry and Pastor Dale Singleton officiating. Interment will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, July 26, 2012, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
