Obituary

Scott Arnold Westenhofer of Townville, South Carolina, passed away on October 19, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories for those who knew him best.

Born in 1973 and raised in Brookfield, Connecticut, Scott attended Longwood College in Virginia on a golf scholarship. Known affectionately as "Westy" to his AXP fraternity brothers and close friends, he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. He later earned his Master's Degree in Information Technology from Virginia Tech.

At his first job out of college, Scott convinced Deena to join the company softball team. Somewhere between work and softball, they fell in love and began building a life together-one filled with family, laughter, and a whole lot of love.

Scott's analytical mind and love of figuring things out led him to a career as a software and cloud developer. He enjoyed a good challenge and finding new ways to solve problems, but the people mattered just as much to him. Many of those he worked with over the years became friends well beyond the workday.

More than anything, Scott loved being a dad to his three boys, Zachary, Mason, and Owen. He coached their Little League and travel baseball teams when they were younger and remained their biggest fan as they grew older. If there was a game or an event, he wanted to be there. Even during treatment, he put his dad jokes and personality to work, sweet-talking his doctors and nurses to help him make it to whatever event his boys had coming up. He fought for those moments because being there for his family was what mattered most.

That same love extended to his nieces and nephews. Whether he was pulling together a backyard Wiffle ball game or coordinating online video games across time zones, Scott found ways to have fun with them and stay connected.

Scott also helped found WestRash Charities to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and support families facing childhood cancer.

Throughout his battle with kidney cancer, Scott fought hard for every single day. He endured so much for the chance to have one more moment with the people he loved-another game, another laugh, another day together.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Deena; his sons, Zachary and Mason; his mother, Adi; his brother, Bill (Gabi); his sister, Kim (Brad); his nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly; and extended family and friends who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don "Pops" Westenhofer, and his stepson, Owen.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scott's memory to MIB Agents at mibagents.org, a charitable organization that WestRash Charities partnered with to support pediatric cancer research.
