Selma Richey Sexton, widow of Randall J. Sexton, Sr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026. She was born in Anderson, SC, on October 15, 1944, to the late James Albert Richey and Louise Worley Richey.

In addition to her husband and parents, Selma was preceded in death by her precious son, Christopher James Sexton, and her fraternal twin brother, Samuel Richey, whom she has now joined in her heavenly home.

Selma loved numbers and spent her career as an accountant and business manager for a private beauty school. She had a true servant's heart and found great joy in using her gifts and talents to help others. After retirement, she continued to volunteer wherever her many skills could be of service. Hospice of the Upstate held a special place in her heart and was one of her favorite places to serve. Along with several of her church friends, she helped create the original Hospice House garden walkway.

Selma was also a devoted member of New Prospect Baptist Church, where there were few offices or jobs, she did not willingly fill. She loved serving her church, but even more than that, she loved the people in it. Her faith, generosity, and willingness to help others touched many lives.

Above all, Selma loved her family. Her three grandchildren were the loves of her life, and she treasured every moment she shared with them. Her love, kindness, faithful service, and devotion to her family and friends will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her son, Randall Sexton, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Trina Sexton Sherman; grandchildren, Kalli Queen (Logan), Cameron Sexton (Mackenzie), and Caroline Sexton; great grandchildren, William Christopher Queen, Margaret James Queen, and Avery Grace Sexton; and her sister Norma R. Olson.

In accordance with Selma's wishes, which are being honored by her family, no services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, it would be Selma's greatest joy for memorials to be made in her memory to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
