October 12, 1941 - February 26, 2007IVA, SCJames Marvin McBride, Sr., age 65, husband of Louise Charping McBride, of 201 Pine Ridge Drive, Iva, SC, died Monday, February 26, 2007 at Willow Creek Living Center in Iva.Born in Iva, SC on October 12, 1941, Mr. McBride was a son of the late William A. McBride and Gertrude Smith McBride. He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas and the South Carolina National Guard after 21 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva.Survivors include his wife, Louise Charping McBride, of the home; sons, James M. McBride, Jr., and his wife, Shanon and Jody McBride and his wife, Sam and a daughter, Lynn Burdette and her husband, Jimmy, all of Iva, SC; brothers, Maxie McBride of Belton, SC, William J. McBride of Anderson, SC and Edward McBride of Iva, SC. Eight grandchildren, Chris and Kayla Powell, Kalee, Jo, Marisa, Marley and Murphy McBride and Draven Price also survive.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Iva, officiated by the Reverends Jerry Gray and Roger Estridge. Interment will follow in Iva City Cemetery with full Military Honors.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
