Sharon Smith Blalock, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Born in Chattanooga, TN on March 19, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Rev. John D. Smith and the late Blanche Chambers Smith. Sharon graduated from Jenkins High School in Savannah, GA. She was a member of Buford Church of God, where she served as a Greeter and on the Widows' Mite Board. She is survived by her husband, Ted Blalock; son, and daughter-in-law, Shane and Darlene Whited, of Anderson, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Blair and Chris Wallace, of Lebanon, OH; and grandchildren, Brianna and Ella Whited, Will, Caroline and Kate Wallace. Also, stepson, Teddy Blalock and his wife, Christina; stepson, Jon Blalock and stepdaughter Kristen Horne and her husband Brant; and grandchildren, Wilson and Walker Blalock, Camden Blalock, Austin and Jayce Danzis, and Rylee and Jackson Horne; as well as many nieces and nephews, their spouses and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Stan and Rusty Smith; sister, Brenda Gunter; brother-in-law's, Harold White and Marvin Ikard. The funeral service will be held at High Praises Church on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverends Chris Sustar, Tracy Hamilton, and Scott Crowe officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, January 21, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buford Church of God Senior Ministry, 4800 S. Lee St., Buford, GA 30518. Mrs. Blalock was a loving wife, mother, and nana. She will greatly missed by all who knew her.
