Obituary

Shelby Ann Hanks Keasler, age 84, of Williamston, SC, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at NHC Healthcare Mauldin.

Born August 14, 1941, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Leroy Hanks and Fearl Buice Jordan Hanks. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Gene Hanks, Joe Hanks, and Leroy Hanks; and sister, Vivian Todd. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Shelby was a devout Christian first and foremost. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, especially the Gaither Vocal Band. She was the matriarch, the backbone, and the strength of her family. She loved to shop and took great pride in her appearance. You would find her at the hair salon every Friday. She enjoyed traveling and going on adventures to new places, making new friends everywhere she went. She loved her family deeply and her grandchildren were her world. Shelby was retired from BASF and was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Gina Mycko (Rusty) and Donna Hanks (Steve); grandchildren, Chris Whitfield, Jody Whitfield, Stephanie Nimmons, and Nicci Hughes-Harris (Mary); 7 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A private service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
