Shelby Jean Parnell, age 61, wife of Wendell Mike Parnell, Sr., of 404 Wellington Street, passed away Thursday July 3, 2014 at the AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Pickens County, SC on October 26, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Gravely and Beulah May Nash. Mrs. Parnell was a former spinner at Wellington Mill and was a member of Wellington Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Michael Parnell and his wife Leighanna, Travis Gravely and his wife, Alice, all of Anderson and Gerald Gravely and his wife Pamela of Six Mile; daughter, Cindy Hofmeister and her husband, Erick of Anderson; brothers, Steve Gravely of Anderson and Edward Gravely and wife Patsy, of Townville; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Denise Gravely. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Tony Smith officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The family will be at the residence.
