Shelby Jean Love Purdy, age 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Achieve Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

Born August 1, 1941, in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late William David Love and Nettie Corine Stone Love. She was married to Charles Edwin Purdy until his death in 2023. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William Archie Love and David Rudolph Love; and sister, Sharon Staggs.

Shelby loved her family and took care of them all, especially her nephews. She was kind but also outspoken, you always knew where she stood. In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword and dot-to-dot puzzles. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by sister, Patricia Soeder; sister-in-law, Faye Love; and nephews, Austin Soeder and Kenneth Vickery.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Curtis Terry officiating.
