Shirley McClellan Burdette, age 79, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at her residence. Born in Anderson, SC, on August 5, 1935, she was the daughter of the late T.C. McClellan and the late Doxie "Mama Dot" McClellan. Shirley enjoyed staying home and taking care of her family. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Garland Lee "Bud" Burdette, of the home; sons, Stacey Reece, of Anderson, SC, Christopher Lee Burdette, of Pendleton, SC and Kevin Shane Burdette, of Cottageville, SC; a daughter, Lisa Reece Corn, of Anderson, SC; one sister, Phyllis Judy, of Orlando, FL; eight grandchildren, Jerry Reece, Brandi Sheppard, Dustin Reece, Scott Reece, all of Anderson, SC, Brent Reece, of Belton, SC. Brittni Nicole Burdette, of Pendleton, SC, Tyler Corn, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Hunter Burdette, of Cottageville, SC and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Frankie Reece, and a sister, Beatrice Davis. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Charles Holland officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends on Thursday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
