Shirley Jean Shaw Dutton of Anderson, SC passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Rainey Hospice House. She was born on July 23, 1943, in Greenville and was a daughter of the late Clyde Fulghum and Blanche Vickery Fulghum. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Bill Fulghum and Bennie Fulghum; and sisters, Dee Fulghum, and Catherine Brown. Shirley worked as a supervisor with Bobbie Dan Plant. She loved gardening and cooking for her family. Shirley enjoyed time spent with her friends and times spent with her grandkids. To some grandkids she was known as Grandma, to others she was Memaw, but to all she was their best friend, secret-keeper, soother of hurts, great defender, and forever loyal. And her special banana pudding, made with just the right number of bananas and lots of love, always made the world right. She will be missed. She is survived by her husband Sammy Leroy Dutton; son Chris Shaw (Shannon); daughter, Tammie Dyar (Dean); sisters, Carolyn Turner, Ruth Fulghum and Sue Shepperd; grandchildren: Christopher Shaw, Cody Snider (Ashley), Christian, Haley, and Hannah Snider, Kandace Botkin (Evan), Hunter Dyar (Andrea) and Connor Dyar; and great grandchildren, Warner Snider, Lorien Botkin and Emily, Mary, Lillian, and Abigail Snider. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 5 pm - 7 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 11am at Bible Deliverance Church with Reverend Carolyn Brown and Reverend Chris Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
