Shirley Garland Evans Sandy Springs, SC Shirley Garland Evans, age 75, passed away on October 14, 2014, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on October 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Earl Lee Garland and the late Pearl Gillespie Garland. She attended LaFrance First Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Evans Nimmons and her husband Jimmy, of Pendleton, SC, and Lisa Evans Walters, of Sandy Springs, SC; a daughter-in-law, Alison Evans, of Pendleton, SC; five grandchildren, Derek and Amy Nimmons, Morgan Walters, and Clayton and Madison Evans; great-great grandchildren, Riley Finn Nimmons, Evelyn Ivy Nimmons, and Claire Ann Pilk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve Clayton Evans. The Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Oconee Memorial Gardens with Reverend Tillman Black officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
