SHIRLEY ANN JONES Shirley Ann Jones, age 75, of 303 Burris Street, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013, at AnMed Medical Center. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Brown and the late Ora Bell Turpin Brown. For fifty - one years she was the loving and devoted wife of the late Marion W. Jones until his death in 2010. Mrs. Jones was retired from Appleton Plant where she worked in the cloth room. She was a member of Belmont Church of God of Prophecy. Shirley was a very active volunteer with the Salvation Army. In her spare time she enjoyed working in her yard and loved gardening and roses. Survivors include three sons, Mark Jones (Gayle) , Tim Jones, and Matthew Jones (Kimberly) all of Anderson; one daughter, Diane Jones Cruse (Charles) of Central; two brothers, Van Brown (Peggy) and Kenneth Brown (Ester), both of Anderson; also surviving are eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; In addition to her parents and her husband, Marion, she was proceeded in death by a son Wayne Jones, and a daughter, Renea Jones; brothers, Jimmy, Donnie, Paul, and David Brown; and a sister, Cathy Braggs. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Pastor Allen Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
