Shirley Ann Richard, age 78, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Rainey Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Richard. Born in White Plains, Georgia, on August 20, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Joel Powell and the late Madge Mobley Powell. She retired, after 24 years, with the Clark Scwebel Company and was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Billy Ray Richard (Kit) and Cathy Louise Arnold (Michael); and three grandchildren, Jennifer Vandiver (Taylor), Matthew Arnold and Katie Arnold. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Boyce and W. C. Powell. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends on Monday, July 30, at the funeral home, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
