Shirley Marrion Herndon Ripley, age 85, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House. Born July 21, 1936, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Herndon and Beulah Burdette Herndon. Shirley formerly worked as a dispatcher for the Honea Path Police Department. She was a member of High Praises Church. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Richard V. Ripley; children, Tracy Ripley Hayes (Nelson) and Cammeron Ripley (Gina); grandchildren, Chandler Hayes (Sara), Collin Hayes (Tiffany), and Quentin Ripley; and great grandchildren, Aiden Hayes, Molly Kate Hayes, Harper Rose Hayes, and Gil Vestal. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 15, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Belton City Cemetery with Pastor Collin Hayes officiating. The family will speak with guests immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will be at their respective homes.
