Shirley Ann Loggins Skelton, age 78, of 202 Stone Drive, Anderson, passed away at her home on Monday, October 17, 2016. Born in Oconee County, SC, on April 20, 1938, she was the daughter of the late R. L. Loggins and the late Jessie Simpson Loggins. She had been married for thirty-two years to the late Hoyt Junior Skelton who died in 2008. Mrs. Skelton was an operator at Singer-Ryobi, retiring after 29 years of service. Later she worked at Yoder Brothers in Pendleton for several years. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a loyal friend to many. She was a member of Faith Memorial Tabernacle. Survivors include two sons, David Scott Skelton and his wife, Sonja of Pelzer, and Mark Skelton and his wife, Amy, of Belton; a daughter Sherry Miles and her husband, Steve, of Anderson; two sisters, Alma Yates of Starr and Nell Whitfield of Anderson; also surviving are seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; in addition to her parents and her former husband, Mrs. Skelton was preceded in death by a son, Steve Skelton and three brothers and six sisters. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Shirley Skelton will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Faith Memorial Tabernacle with Rev. Mike Harrell and Rev. Alma Yates officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
