Known for her strong will, quick wit, and deep compassion for both animals and people, Shoan's life was marked by unwavering determination and an ever-present love for her family and friends. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in spending time with her family and caring for her many pets over the years. Her nurturing spirit and loving heart touched all who knew her.
Shoan is survived by her daughter, Angela Anderson (Barry) of Dewy Rose, GA; son, Jonathan Moore (Elizabeth) of Raleigh, NC; nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Kristen (Seth), Zachary, Jessey, Jonah, Jabe, Sarah, Annie Kate, and Lincoln; two great-grandchildren, James and Emma; two sisters, Angela Ellison and Deborah Richey; and many extended family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
In addition to her parents, Shoan was preceded in death by her two brothers, Rickey Goodman and Alex Goodman, and her first love, George Harold Patterson.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson, with Rev. David W. Day officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
In honor of Shoan's love for children and animals, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of the following organizations: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Anderson County PAWS.
May Shoan's memory be a blessing to all who knew her, and may her legacy of love and compassion live on in our hearts and actions.
