SIDNEY CROMER May 12, 1941 - April 29, 2008ANDERSON, SCMr. Sidney Lanier Cromer, age 66, husband of Athelia Crenshaw Cromer of 2803 Leftwich Lane, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Hart County, GA on May 12, 1941, Mr. Cromer was a son of the late David Omer Cromer and Perlie Roach Cromer. He was a graduate of Boys' High School and Tri-County Technical College. He was retired from (BP) British Petroleum in Greenville and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Cromer was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Harry Osborne Sunday School class.Survivors include his wife, Athelia Crenshaw Cromer of the home; sons, Kirk Cromer and his wife, Paula, Stephan Cromer and his wife, Jan, Patrick Cromer and his wife, Amy, all of Anderson; brothers, Frank Cromer of Belton and James Cromer of Townville; sisters, Gladys Cromer, Shelvie Johnson and Donna Pettit, all of Anderson, Merle Brown of Toccoa, GA, Doris Veal of Royston, GA, Blondine Spain of Hollywood, FL and Mary Elgin of Winder, GA. Six grandchildren, Emily, Elliott, Drew, Cameron, Merritt and Ansley also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Cromer and a sister, Grace Edmonds.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 11:00 am at Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Reverends Brent Lollis and Tim Ellenburg. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Anderson.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Mr. Cromer will be placed in the church at 10:00 am on Friday.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
