WILLIAMS September 6, 1911 - March 16, 2006ANDERSON, SCMr. Dossie Elton Williams, age 94, of 2102 Karen Lane, Anderson, SC, husband of the late Velma Barnum Williams, died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Canon, GA on September 6, 1911, Mr. Williams was a son of the late William 'Bill' Alexander Williams and Mary Elizabeth Charping Williams. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local No. 130, West Palm Beach, FL since 1947. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church where he was a former church treasurer. Mr. Williams was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by a son, Howard Douglas Ivester and his wife, Lisa; a daughter, Carolyn S. Wilson and her husband, Larry all of Anderson, SC; seven grandchildren, Catherine Foster, Stephen Wilson, Kendrick Wilson, Roger Wilson, Jessica Ivester, Andrew Ivester and Katlyn Ivester; five great-grandchildren, Garrison Foster, Brent Foster, Cullen Foster, Matthew Wilson, Alex Wilson, and a good friend and neighbor, Tom Morrow.He was first married to the late Gussie Smith Williams, and was also preceded in deathby six brothers: Leo, Cleo, J. T., Berlin, Milton and Clifford Williams, and five sisters, Lillian W. Latham, Eila Williams, Annie Belle W. Duncan, Myrtle W. Fleming and Jewell W. Spake.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Mike Fitzpatrick. Interment will follow in Old Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson.The family will be at the residence, 2102 Karen Lane, and will receive friends at TheMcDougald Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2006.
