Stanley F. Ciesla Anderson, SC Mr. Stanley Frank Ciesla, age 80, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Stan was the son of the late Stanley and Marie Ciesla. He was graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Chicago Illinois and from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, earning a B.S. in Chemistry. Stan began his career as a research chemist. His work lead to being awarded several U.S. Patents for novel chemical compounds he synthesized. He then worked as a chemist in industry and eventually started his own company in 1982, from which he retired in 1999. After his retirement he served as a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County. He was awarded habitat for Humanity volunteer of the year. Stan and his wife Jane were avid travelers having visited over thirty countries across the world. He was also an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anderson SC. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jane Griffith Ciesla, sons Mike Ciesla of Charlotte NC and Jim Ciesla of Naperville IL and daughter Linda Ciesla Whitaker of Charlotte NC, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Richard Ciesla. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 12:00 Noon, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ignatius Smith, OFM officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, on Saturday, prior to the service, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 Cornelia Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or to the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
