Stanley Jack Saarloos

Stanley Jack Saarloos, age 91, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Belleville, NJ, on February 18, 1924, he was the son of the late James Saarloos and the late Helen Van Ray Saarloos. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 36th Infantry Division. He was the recipient of the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and The Purple Heart. He was employed with NJ Bell Telephone Company for many years. Stanley was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Anderson, and the Alice Brown Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Jane N. Saarloos, of the home; a son, John Saarloos, of Hilton Head, SC; three grandchildren, Steven, Jamie Jane, and James Saarloos; and a niece, Barbara Cove, her husband Jack and their daughters, Lori and Chris, of Asheville, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Saarloos; a grandson, Richie Saarloos; and six brothers.
The Funeral service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 11:00 am with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tedder and David Segars officiating. The family will gather for a time of visitation following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC, First Presbyterian Church of Anderson, 302 West Whitner Street, Anderson, SC 29624, or the charity of one's choice.
