Stark Watkins Suggs, age 56, of Greer, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown Greenville.
He was born June 11, 1964 in Anderson, SC and was the son of Jane Gray Williams Suggs and the late Forest Dewitt Suggs, Jr.
Stark was a graduate of T.L. Hanna High School, class of 1982, and Lander University, class of 1988, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Biology. He began his career in outside medical sales and worked in sales for most of his life.
Stark enjoyed making people laugh, he "never met a stranger" and loved sharing antics from his youth. He loved woodworking, specifically turning wooden bowls on his lathe, and spent many hours in his workshop perfecting his craft.
Most importantly he loved Jesus and followed Him. Stark was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church where he and Karen felt at home the minute they walked through the doors, six years ago. He enjoyed spending time in Bible study with other members of St. Paul's. He also enjoyed being the hands and feet of Jesus as he, alongside his fellow parishioners, worked to make home repairs for those less fortunate.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Marie Blakely Suggs of the home; mother, Jane Gray Suggs of Anderson, SC; sons, Blake Watkins Suggs and Benjamin Stark Suggs both of Greenville, SC; and brothers, David Gray Suggs, and wife Virginia Glenn Suggs, of Anderson, SC, and Forest Dewitt Suggs, III, and wife Pamela Cantwell Suggs, of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Joseph Kenneth Blakely, and wife Debra LaFollette Blakely, of Pickens, SC as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
