He retired from Springs Industries and was an avid hunter and fisherman.He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Jeannette King Christenbury of the home; son, Steve Christenbury of Iva; daughters, Wanda Sullivan of Anderson and Shera Holmes of Iva; brothers, Ron Christenbury of Starr, James Christenbury and Richard Christenbury, both of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Kenneth Christenbury of Hartwell, GA and David Christenbury of Virginia; sister, Janet Sinclair of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Blake Holmes, Jay Holmes, Kelsey Christenbury and Cy Christenbury; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Holmes, Luke Holmes and Morgen Holmes.He was predeceased by a brother, John Christenbury and sisters, Dorothy Addison and Berniece Dow.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Jimmy Bryan and Reverend Ken Anderson.
