Stephen Willis "Steve" Blume, age 69, of Anderson, SC, dedicated husband to Virginia Hightower Blume of the home for 48 years, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born January 27, 1952, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Waymon Willis Blume and the late Mary McClellan Blume. After graduating from McDuffie High School, he attended Tri-County Technical College. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard for over 22 years. He owned and operated his company Bee Electric, having worked for Hill Electric for over 17 years prior. He was a devoted member of New Prospect Baptist Church where he coached Boys Basketball for 15 years and was also a member of the Stewards Sunday School Class. He enjoyed golfing, and also fishing with his granddaughter Sarah who affectionately called him "Papa". In addition to his loving wife Virginia, he is survived by his daughter, Christy Hobson (Steven) and their daughter Sarah, of Anderson, SC; and sisters, Joyce Webster (Don) of Anderson, SC, and Judy Hickey (Chris) of Raleigh, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Ann Blume. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Turner officiating. Social distancing will be observed and masks requested. Burial will follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E.
