STEVE EVANS August 20, 1961 - September 24, 2006PENDLETON, SCMr. Steve Clayton Evans, age 45, husband of Alison Gregory Evans of 1415 Autun Road, Pendleton, SC, died Sunday, September 24, 2006 at his residence.Born in Seneca, SC on August 20, 1961, Mr. Evans was the son of William Clayton Evans and Shirley Garland Evans of Sandy Springs, SC. He was retired from the Anderson County Compliance Office and was a former police officer with the Pendleton Police Department where he served for over 12 years. He recently acquired his State Constable Commission. He was a member of Pendleton Masonic Lodge, the Fraternal Order of Police; SC Law Enforcement Officers Association and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Anderson. Steve was a loving and compassionate husband and father who always displayed his wisdom, honesty, kindness, strength and gentleness to his family and friends.Survivors include his wife, Alison Gregory Evans, son Clay Evans; daughter, Madison Evans, all of the home; sisters, Kathy Nimmons and her husband, Jim of Pendleton, SC and Lisa Walters of Sandy Springs; niece, Morgan Walters of Sandy Springs, SC; nephew, Derek Nimmons of Charleston, SC and niece, Amy Nimmons of Pendleton, SC; sister-in-law, Marie Dupree of Hollywood, SC and her children, Katheryn and Jordan.The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Dow Welsh and Gerald Murphy. Interment will follow in Oconee Memorial Park, Seneca, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
