J. Stephen Hopper Anderson, SC J. Stephen "Steve" Hopper, age 65, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Born in Anderson, SC on September 18, 1948, he was the son of the late Junius Hopper and the late Frances Hopper. He served in the SC National Guard and was a graduate of Clemson University. Steve retired from Allstate Insurance after 25 years of service. He was an accomplished musician, playing the saxophone in several local bands, traveling the southeast. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Carroll Hopper; a step-daughter, Ashley Jenkins, of Anderson, SC; a niece, Kathy Rumsfellow; a sister-in-law, Sandra Carroll; and his mother and father-in-law, Ethel and Fred McMinn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria White. The Graveside service for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Dr. Jack Couch officiating. Flowers will be accepted.
