Steven Gene Martin, age 63, of Starr, SC, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born January 17, 1958 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Mertis Snow Fountain and the late Gene Martin. Steve was retired from Faurecia and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his mother, Mertis Fountain and step-father, Wendell Fountain, he is survived by his companion, Judy Hyman Ladnier; brother, Scott Murphy; five grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Papa Steve"; and nieces, Retta Michelle Crisp and Priscilla Human Lee. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Retta Jones; paternal grandparents, Frank and Sybil Martin; and maternal grandparents, Julius and Marie Snow. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 10, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating.
