Steven Gregory Renoir, age 71, of Williamston, SC, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born November 29, 1952, in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late James Gregory Renoir and Irene Moody Renoir. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melodie Michelle Renoir; sister, Linda Hoffman; and brother-in-law, Danny Black.
Steven was a graduate of Parker High School and retired from Michelin after 36 years of faithful service to the company. He was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving from 1972 through 1976 as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War stationed in Thailand. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying kayaking, golfing, and camping. He enjoyed visiting and vacationing in New Smyrna Beach, Florida with his wife Nancy. He was a member of Second Chance Church and lived his faith to the fullest every single day. Steven had a witty sense of humor and was the epitome of what it meant to be humble and kind. He loved his family and friends and will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Fleming Renoir; daughters, Sherry Traynum (Josh) and Danielle Gray (Travis); sisters, Carol Black and Donna Wooten (Larry); grandchildren, Stephanie Cason (Tyler), Jarad Wood, Bryanna Wood, Emma Hughes, Gracie McCroskey (Clay), Ella Traynum, Hayden Traynum, Landon Gray, and Ashton Gray; great grandchildren, Emersyn, Brooklyn, Leeland, Zaiden, Atlas, Charlie, and Hudson; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 1:00-2:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Sammy Kay, Jr. officiating. A committal service with military honors will be held at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621, or the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
The family will be at the residence.
