SUE COVINGTON GREENE March 3, 1938 - June 9, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Sue Covington Greene, was born March 3, 1938 in Daleville, AL to Gladys Dowling and Gus Morris Covington and passed away on June 9, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Sue attended school in Boston, GA and Thomasville, GA. She graduated Salutatorian of her high school class, earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia and was a Life Loyal member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Sue was a high school English teacher at Wade Hampton High School, held a real estate license for over 25 years, was a past president of the South Carolina CPA Association Auxiliary, was a founding life member of Cardinal Racquet Club, was a founding member and past president of the Anderson Debutante Club, and was a founding director and past chair at the Foothills Community Foundation. She traveled extensively and was a part-time resident of Folly Beach, SC and Highlands, NC, where she attended the First Methodist and First Presbyterian Churches. She has been a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Anderson for over 50 years. She is survived by her dedicated husband of fifty six years, John Monroe Greene, three loving daughters, Susan Greene Lockwood, Dr. Theresa Greene Knoepp and Kathryn Greene Heeney, sons-in-law Dr. Louis Frederick Knoepp, III and John Gaston Heeney, a granddaughter, Emily Dowling Knoepp and five grandsons, Harry Beecher Lockwood, IV, John Wootten Lockwood, Daniel Parks Lockwood, Louis Frederick Knoepp, IV and John Gaston Heeney, Jr., all of Anderson. She loved her family, friends, sunsets, hummingbirds, the beach and reading. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM in the Parlor of St. John's United Methodist Church. The Funeral Service will follow at the church beginning at 2:00 PM with Reverend Dan Batson and Dr. Lee Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
