Anderson, SC Ida Ruth "Sue" Hampton, age 89, died Friday, February 13, 2015, at National Health Care. Born in Anderson on September 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Wade Lee and Viola Stephens Hampton. She was retired from the textile industry, having worked in the cloth room at Orr Mill and at Southside Mill. She attended Oakwood Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She is survived by her nephew, Wade Hampton (Jamie) of Anderson, and her brother, David Lee Hampton of Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wade Earl Hampton, Sr., and Carl T. Hampton. A graveside service will be held at New Silver Brook Cemetery on Monday, February 16, 2015, at 2:30 PM with the Reverend Dr. Wendell Bannister officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. Flowers are optional.
