Gwendolyn Sue Brown Merck, age 82, of Anderson, SC, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born August 22, 1941, in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Lafayette Brown and Odean Hicks Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Frances Stamps.

Sue formerly worked for BASF. She enjoyed landscaping and flowers. She loved her dogs, Prissy and Georgia. Most of all Sue loved her children and grandchildren and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Strickland (Thierry Barnes) of Anderson; sons, Tony Strickland (John Tribble), and Brad Strickland (Caroline) both of Anderson; grandchildren, Brett Strickland of Greenville, and Marett McCullough (Jeremy) of Lyman; and Shera Donna Strickland.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will speak with guests immediately following the service.
