Sue Ellen Cater Milford, age 78, of Anderson, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Born June 30, 1942 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Cleo Cater and Ernestine Watson Cater. She was married for 43 years to Charles Ray Milford until his death in 2013. Sue was a graduate of Girls High and attended Furman University. She was a talented pianist and spent her life sharing that gift with others and loved teaching her craft. Sue served the Lord by helping many churches throughout her career when there was a need for a piano player. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was the pianist for Dorchester Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Johnna Pittman (Scott), Dee Beebe (Randy), Scott Milford, Billy Milford (Lori), and Rayne' Hale (Shane); step-daughters, Beverly Sullivan and Lisa Milford; brother, Roger Dale Cater; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth and Thomas Cater; and sister-in-law, An Cater. Family and friends may pay their respects and sign the Guest Register on Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 14, 2021, from 1:30-3:00 pm in the choir room of Trinity Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary with Rev. Robbie Robertson and Rev. Michael Allen officiating. Burial will be at a later date at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted and memorial contributions may be made in honor of Mrs. Milford to the music ministry of the church of one's choice.
