SUSAN BUCKNER FEBRUARY 05, 1954 - MAY 26, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Susan Crudup Buckner, age 59, wife of Mike Buckner, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Lancaster, SC, she was the daughter of the late Josiah Crudup and the late Alice Hochuli Crudup. Mrs. Buckner was the director of the Management Training Program with Wachovia Bank in North Carolina and later became a realtor with the Anderson Association of Realtors. She served 8 years on the Anderson County Foster Care Review Board, currently Vice Chairman for Anderson County Children's Policy Council. She was the Past President and a member of Our Garden Club, Senior Assembly, and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a teacher for the middle school Wednesday night class and was an advisor. She was a founding member of the Famished Female Bible Study and a Chancel Guild Member. She attended Brenau College in Gainesville, GA; later transferred to USC and graduated in 1976. Mrs. Buckner is survived by her husband; daughter, Meg Buckner of the home; brother, Jody Crudup and his wife, Elliott of Anderson, SC; sister, Sallie Crudup Hickam and her husband, Vince of Jonesboro, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Esco Leopard. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 4:00 pm at The First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Dennis Tedder and Reverend Caroline Berardi officiating. Interment will be a private family burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
