Susan Carol Byrd, 60, of Anderson, SC passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born December 16, 1958 in Deerborn, MI, she was a daughter of Ray Fant and the late Marian Wardell Strandberg. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents. She had worked in medical records at AnMed Health Medical Center. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Townville, SC, loved the beach and collecting bears. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Russell Byrd.; Son, Michael James Byrd; daughters, Rachel Ericka Smith and Katlyn Elizabeth Byrd; brothers, Steve and Tim Fant; sister, Amy Lux and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday, January 11, 2019 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm Saturday at Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. David Blizzard officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church, 6724 Hwy 24, Townville, SC 29689.
