Iris Susanne White Simmons, age 72, of Anderson, SC, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023. Born June 21, 1951, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph White and Iris Kathryn Jarrett White. She was married for 43 years to Dennis Bruce Simmons until his death in 2018. She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Douglas Robert Moore. Susanne received a Master's Degree in Education from Clemson University and was retired from the United States Postal Service. She had many interests including reading fiction novels, DIY videos, stand-up comedy and following current events. Roses, butter pecan ice cream and crushed ice were just a few of her favorite things. She was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. Susanne loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Simmons Chambers of Anderson, SC, and her husband Trenton Harold Chambers of Greenville, SC; Brothers: Stephen Hugh Marvin White and William Vincent White and his wife Judy Brown White; Sisters: Carolyn Elizabeth White Moore and Harriett Annelle White Addis; Grand-Puppies: Colby Simmons Chambers, Lady Danny, and Dalton, and Grand-Kitties: Smokey and Katie. The family will receive friends Friday, August 25, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Pastor Brent Lollis officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, 711 Glenn St., Anderson, SC 29625.
