Susie Gunn West, 84 of Anderson, SC passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at NHC of Anderson. Born September 28, 1932 in Demorest, GA, Susie was a daughter of the late Frank Livingston Gunn and the late Thelma Julia Church Gunn. She was married for 51 years to the late Edgar Franklin West. She worked for 43 years in area banks and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. She served in the church as treasurer, bookkeeper, Sunday school and Awana teacher and was also a member of the choir. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her son, David Franklin (Judy) West of Anderson, SC; daughters, Sheryl West (Robert) Scott of Anderson, SC and Tammy West (David) Williamson of Columbia, SC; sister, Sarah Elizabeth McCoy of Starr, SC; four grandchildren, Sherry Lewis (Roger) Floyd, Susan Lewis Hamby, Kyle Williamson and Eric (Sarah) Williamson; five great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Friday, July 21, 2017 at Canaan Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Parnell officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family requests memorials be made to Canaan Baptist Church, 1834 S. Murray Avenue, Anderson, SC 29624.
