Sylvene Adams Dillingham, age 93, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at home with her family by her side. Born December 18, 1927, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late James Henry Adams and Mittie Locke Adams. She was the widow of J.R. Dillingham. Sylvene was a graduate of Girls High and formerly the manager at S.H. Kress & Co. She also formerly worked at the Greenville Street News Stand and Bill's Restaurant. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. She was a long time member of Zion United Methodist Church attending faithfully as long as her health permitted. She is survived by her son, David Dillingham (Rhonda); three grandchildren, Michelle Stuart (Will) and their daughter, Blakely, Krystal Dillingham and her daughter, Kassity Smith, and Taylor D. Aiken and her husband, Taylor B. and their children, Jaylyn, Rylan, David, Finnley, Bentley, and Lynnix; and nephew, Dennis R. Adams (Debbie) and niece, Jennifer Coats (Wayne) and their families. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Beverly CroweTipton officiating. The family will speak with guests immediately following the service.
