Sylvia Manning Black, age 89, of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at AnMed Medical Center, Anderson, SC. Born September 29, 1933 in Calhoun Falls, SC, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Manning and Margaret Wright Manning. She was a registered nurse at AnMed Medical Center, retired with over 25 years of service. She enjoyed painting, crocheting and time with her family and friends. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. Sylvia is survived by her son, Steven M. Black of Anderson; daughter, Laura B. Tunstall and her husband Andy, of Anderson; sister, Jo Ann Martin of Anderson County and step-granddaughter, Hannah Tunstall of Welford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Billy Miles Black and her brother, John Manning. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Michael Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Syliva Jane Black may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, 304 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
