SYLVIA DAVIS June 25, 1940 - July 10, 2008ANDERSON, SCMrs. Sylvia Ellen Cheek Davis, age 68, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Brookside Living Center.Born in Anderson, SC on June 25, 1940, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Clifton James Cheek and Lula Beatrice Powell Cheek. She attended Pendleton High School and worked in textiles for several years. Mrs. Davis was a former member of Barnett's Grove Cathedral of Love.Survivors include two sons, Donald Davis and his wife, Kim and David Davis, Jr., brothers, Leonard Cheek and Tony Cheek, all of Anderson; sisters, June Gayle of Concord, NC, Rachel McAlister of Anderson, Diane McMahan of Belton and Linda Gover of Anderson; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Marshall Joseph Cheek and James Clifton Cheek.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Sam Duncan and Corps Sgt. Maj. Charles Gayle.
