Sylvia Annette Thompson, age 76, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at her home. Born in Anderson, SC on September 24, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Luther Charlton Mattison and the late Annie Lucille Sweat Mattison. She was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church in Cross Hill and attended House of Prayer in Anderson, SC. She is survived by her children, Chris Mitchell, Cindy Riley (John), and Denise Thrasher (David); nine grandchildren, Matt Gaillard, Brian Gaillard, Micah Thrasher, Dyllon Mitchell, Austin Mitchell, C.J. Mitchell, Wil Mitchell, Alexis Mitchell, and Harley Mitchell; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hilliard Thompson; and two sisters, Barbara Brock, and Lena McCall. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 23, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date at Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes.
