Tammy Monfort Poole, age 60, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Born October 23, 1961, in Albany, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jack Wiley Monfort and Peggy Jo Hamby Roberts. Tammy was a graduate of Valdosta State University and enjoyed a career as a teacher. Her hobbies included being with friends and encouraging everyone around her, painting and writing. She enjoyed sports and was a rabid Alabama fan and Thomasville Bulldogs fan. Tammy was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Gary Wilton Poole; son, Christopher Wilton Poole; daughter, McKinsey Poole Threlkeld (Billy); and brother, Wiley Greg Monfort. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
