Ted Clarence Wahlen, age 83, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home. Born in Milwaukee, WI, he was the son of the late Edward John Wahlen and the late Estelle Mary Voss Wahlen. Ted proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. earning a National Defense Service medal. He was the founder and operator of Porta Service of Milwaukee, WI. Ted belonged to the Horticulture Society for many years and enjoyed many outdoor activities including gardening, boating, swimming, golfing, and camping. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Peabody Wahlen; his three sons, Kurt Wahlen (Barb, of Wauwatosa, WI, Jeff Wahlen, of Seneca, SC and Glen Wahlen and his wife Ruth, of Orlando, FL; step-sons, Donald McCarthy and his wife Gale, of Coral Springs, FL, Christopher McCarthy and his wife Tiwa, of Loxahatchee, FL, and Timothy Tullock and his wife Jillian, of Columbia, MD; a step-daughter, Heather Thamm and her husband Russ, of Starr, SC; a daughter-in-law, Tessa Wahlen, of West Allis, WI; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brent Wahlen, a brother, William Wahlen; and a sister, Gloria Schreck. A Graveside Committal Service was held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC. The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Bernard's Parish, 1500 Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI 53213 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Patriots Hospice, 54 Bear Dr, Greenville, SC 29605 or to Richard M.
