IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Terry Steven
Young
November 2, 1957 – December 12, 2025
Terry Steven Young, born November 2, 1957, in Anderson, South Carolina, passed away December 12, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center. He was the beloved son of the late Clarence Lee Young and the late Grace Branyon Young.
Terry was reared in Belton and worked in manufacturing after earning his high school diploma. His passion was music. Terry was born a gifted musician. He found immense joy in playing the piano or organ where his talent was unbelievably fantastic. He loved to dance, swim, and had an unnatural "green" thumb for gardening. Terry was more of a homebody, until Edisto Island was spoken. Nothing made him happier than visiting the island he loved. Terry was a gentle, kind, loving man. He appreciated the "little things" in life. He loved his family and friends with force and they all loved him. He will be missed by all, including his furry friends, Jake and Judd, who received his perpetual love and care every day.
He is survived by a sister, Judy Smith (Jack), a brother, Donald E Young (Shirley) and his partner of 34 years, Michael Banister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Brenda J. Young, and a brother Gary M. Young.
The family will gather for visitation on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm. Terry's funeral service will begin at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Durham and Rev. Brent McMaster will officiate. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories, Belton, SC.
Donations may be made to Anderson County P.A.W.S. in memory of Terry.
