She was a graduate of Anderson Girls' High School and was a lifelong member of Orrville United Methodist Church. Miss Thackston retired as a market clerk and was formerly employed by BASF.Survivors include her sister, Lois Burroughs of Greenville, SC; her brother, Nathaniel Thackston of Morganton, NC; and twelve niece and nephews.She was predeceased by her parents; brothers: Stokes Thackston and Marshall Thackston; and sisters: Ellen Ollivett and Barbara Tripp.The Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, June 14, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Faye Stephens.
