THELMA AIKEN October 28, 1914 - August 21, 2008ANDERSON, SCMrs. Thelma Snipes Aiken, age 93 of 2313 Broadway Lake Road, wife of the late James M. Aiken, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at her residence.Born in Anderson County, SC on October 28, 1914, Mrs. Aiken was a daughter of the late Willie Weldon Snipes and Effie Shearer Snipes. She retired from Orr Lyons Mill after 33 years of service and was a member of Broadway Lake Baptist Church.Survivors include her daughter, Mildred A. King of Loganville, GA; her sons, John Aiken of Anderson, Ray Aiken of Grovetown GA, and Charles Aiken, of Anderson; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Melvin E. Aiken; four brothers and five sisters.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Early M. Tucker.
