Gossett Street, wife of the late Walter Clarence Griffin, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Fountain Inn Nursing Center in Fountain Inn, SC.Born in Orangeburg, SC on October 14, 1906, Mrs. Griffin was the daughter of the late James M. Boykin and Molly Lambert Boykin. She was the former owner and operator of Thelma Griffin Day Care and was a member of Concord Baptist Church where she was the former director of the nursery. She was also a former member of the W.M.U. and the Woodmen of the World.Survivors include sons, James W. Griffin of Melbourne, FL and Robert C. Griffin and his wife, Gloria A. Griffin of Greer, SC; four grandchildren, Sharon Sauer, Jimmy Griffin, Meg Griffin, Carole Leigh Patterson and four great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, John W. Griffin.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 15 2006, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Bob Marcaurelle. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 15, 2006 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
