She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and a member of the Encouragers' Sunday School class.Survivors include two sons, Larry A. Cohen and his wife Virginia; D. Lynn Cohen and his wife Virginia; a stepson, R.L. Hanks Jr. and his wife Cindy, all of Anderson; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Mrs. Hanks was predeceased by her husband, R. L. Hanks; her mother, Viola Sandlin Thorne; a brother, Douglas Thorne; and a sister, Ruby Sevy.A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 2:30 P.M. in The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Tony Smith officiating.
