RAMEYFEBRUARY 11, 1927 - April 30, 2011ANDERSON, SC ' Thelma Elizabeth Richey Ramey, age 84, wife of the late Pate Ramey, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011.Born in Townville, SC, on February 11, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas Richey and Elsie Teasley Rowland Richey. Mrs. Ramey retired from the textiles industry having been employed by the Appleton Mill, the Anderson Mill, and the Singer Corporation. She was a longtime homemaker and member of Lebanon Baptist Church where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Additionally, Mrs. Ramey was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Anderson Chapter No. 130 and an avid quilter.Survivors include her children: son, Dennis R. Ramey and wife, Yvette of Anderson, SC; daughter, Nancy R. Martin and husband, Tom of Townville, SC; and daughter, Sandra R. Turpin and husband, Greg of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren: Paula M. Bell and husband, Gene, Tammy M. Ramsey and husband, Russell, Jeffrey P. Martin and wife, Julie, Leigh M. Price and husband, Michael, Justin D. Turpin, and Garrett M. Turpin; seven great grandchildren; sisters: Betty Gray, JoAnn Alewine, Joyce Wentzky, and Mary Carter, all of Anderson, SC; and brothers: Roger Richey and Calvin Richey, both of Anderson, SC, Jerry Richey of Marion, NC, Louis Richey and Jimmy Richey, both of Belton, SC.In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Greg Ramey; a brother, Edward Richey; and three infant brothers.The Funeral Service will be held at 3pm on Monday, May 2, 2011, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Harry Warren and Layman Jimmy Richey.
