Thomas Jeffrey Burgess, age 66, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Born March 17, 1959, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late John Nathan Burgess, Sr. and the late Alma Louise Edwards Finley and stepfather, Arnold Lincoln Finley who raised him. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Brandy Burgess.

Thomas was retired from Duke Energy and was formerly the owner of Tommy's Automotive. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a hardworking, godly man who loved his entire family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and member of Hamilton Masonic Lodge 403 AFM and Freedom Baptist Ministries.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Wicker Burgess; sons, Thomas Jeffrey "Jeff" Burgess, Jr. (Christina) of Iva and Stacy Sanders of Belton; brothers, Ted Burgess (Mary) of Belton, John Burgess (Faye) of Laurens, and Walter Burgess of Pelzer; sisters, Linda Bell (Johnny) of Williamston and Patsy McConnell (Jody) of Anderson; grandchildren, Laci Burgess, Gavin Burgess, Kendal Burgess, and Gwen Burgess all of Iva, Isabella Speed (Alexander) and Noah Sanders both of Anderson; and great granddaughters, Amelia Speed and Charlotte Speed both of Anderson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 11:00 am until 12:15 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Tony Tilley officiating. Burial will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
