TOM COOK July 3, 1930 - November 19, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. Thomas Shockley Cook, age 77 of 119 Green Forest Drive, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.Born in Greenville, SC on July 3, 1930, Mr. Cook was a son of the late George C. Cooke and Carrie Shockley Cooke. He was a lifelong resident of Greenwood, SC and for the past two years, was a resident of Anderson, SC. He was educated by the Greenwood County School System and was a graduate of Greenwood College of Commerce earning an Associate Degree in Accounting. He was the retired owner and operator of Carolina Cigar and Candy Company in Greenwood for over 25 years. Before retiring, Tom worked twenty years with the Cedar Springs Golf Course in Cokesbury. He was an Eagle Scout with some 30-merit badges and was a former Scout Master. He was an avid golfer and bowler and participated in many Greenwood area leagues. He served three years in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict between 1950-53. He was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood and most recently attended River of Life Church of God in Anderson.Survivors include a brother, William R. 'Bob' Cooke and his wife Ann of Anderson; nephew, Keith Cooke and niece, Emily Smith, both of Anderson.The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Stoney Abercrombie officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Ken Anderson officiating.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or River of Life Church of God, P. O.
